- Film Heritage was an important scholarly film journal of the 60s and 70s.
- Principal founder and editor was Prof. F. Anthony Macklin, University of Dayton, Ohio.
- Associate editors included Bob Haller of Notre Dame University, Bob Steele of Boston University and Joel Siegel of Georgetown University.
- To stay afloat, the journal received financial assistance at times from the University of Dayton and Wright State University.
- In the later issues, more emphasis was given over to interviews with film people.
